Mavericks Competitive Team
Mavericks is the Oaklantis competitive swim program. Swimmers train and compete in USA Swimming meets throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
Athletes must try out to join and meet specific qualifications.
- At least one USA Swimming Motivational B Time
- Attend a minimum of 80% of practices each month
- Regularly compete in swim meets
A tryout is required to join Mavericks.
Financial Aid Is Available
Oaklantis has a nobody turned away policy. Oaklantis offers financial aid to qualifying families to ensure that every kid in Oakland and the East Bay has the opportunity to swim.

Developmental
APPLYSwimmers in this group are typically age 10 and under and know stroke and turn technique. These swimmers are developing strokes for competition and learning the etiquette of swim practice.

APPLYThese swimmers are typically age 12 and under and focus on technical development, aerobic development, learning healthy competition routines and habits, setting and achieving goals, and mental and emotional development around the sport of swimming.
